Introduction to Me

Hello world, I am Randa Meade, a junior dietetics student at James Madison University.  Now that you know that I am a dietetics student you may think that I have everything figured out when it comes to food and being healthy.  Well if that was your thought you couldn't be more wrong.

I can't give you an introduction to who I truly am without first some background info on how I got to where I am today.  I have had a lifelong struggle with weight, food, and body image.  Four years ago, when I was a junior in high school I began a weight loss regimen and over the next year and a half lost 50 lbs.  Then, as I like to put it, life happened and I gained back most of my weight.  I soon realized that my weight loss regimen wasn't a true life style change but instead a diet and we all know, diets just don't work.

So now here I am a junior in college and truly focused and committed to weight loss once more.  However, this time is different.  This time is different because I don't have a desire to lose weight to be slim, slender, skinny  "beautiful"; I have come to the realization that beauty is so much more than what is on the outside and how we look.  This time my journey to weight loss is for a different reason entirely--this time my goal is to be healthy.  I want to be a healthy me so that I can do what I have always wanted to do--help others, cheesy, I know.

I am becoming a healthier me, one baby step at a time and I am sharing those steps with you.
